Stephen Dorff (born July 29, 1973 in Atlanta , Georgia ) is an American actor . His most famous roles include a. that of Deacon Frost in the comic book adaptation Blade .

Career

Stephen Dorff lived in Atlanta for a short time after his birth. After the birth of his younger brother Andrew, the family moved to Los Angeles . It soon became apparent that Dorff had a keen interest in the film industry. So it happened that he was hired for a role in the US television series Familienbande at the age of nine . In 1987 he got his first leading role in the fantasy film Gate - The Underground .

In 1989, Dorff had a guest appearance alongside Giovanni Ribisi in A Terribly Nice Family , in the episode The Hero of the Modern World . Stephen and Giovanni played Bud's friends Boz and Teddy.

Stephen Dorff's portrayal of the so-called "fifth Beatles", bassist Stuart Sutcliffe , in the film Backbeat by Iain Softley , a film from 1994 about the beginnings of the Beatles, was highly praised .

Stephen Dorff achieved worldwide popularity in 1998 when he played the role of the villain Deacon Frost in the Marvel comic book adaptation Blade . For this portrayal he was named "Best Film Villain" at the MTV Movie Awards in 1999 . Dorff showed other significant acting performances in the film I shot Andy Warhol at the side of Lili Taylor or in the John Waters film Cecil B. DeMented (2000). After the films FearDotCom and Cold Creek Manor - The House on the River , Alone in the Dark was released in 2005 .

Stephen Dorff has had smaller roles in around 30 music videos so far. Most recently he was in the music video Everytime by Britney Spears to see.

Dorff left a death threat on the answering machine of Jackass actor Steve-O in November 2006 , as he was in a relationship with Dorff's ex-girlfriend Lykke May Andersen . Steve-O filmed himself laughing out loud with Andersen listening to the message and posted the video on the Internet.

In 2012 Dorff starred as Jeremy Reins in the crime thriller Brake in front of the camera, where he also acted as executive producer.
