Lili Anne Taylor (born February 20, 1967 in Glencoe near Chicago , Illinois ) is an American actress .

Life

Lili Taylor is the second youngest of six siblings. She made her stage debut as a professional actress in 1984 and made her first small appearance in a film in 1988 in She's Having a Baby . In the same year she played her first significant role in Pizza Pizza - A Slice of Heaven at Julia Roberts' side . In 1989 she starred in Cameron Crowe's directorial debut Teen Lover and Born on July 4th .

After that, Taylor made a name for himself mainly with independent productions. She has starred in films by Nancy Savoca , Emir Kusturica , Robert Altman , Friðrik Þór Friðriksson , Alan Rudolph , Allison Anders , Abel Ferrara , John Sayles , John Waters and Mary Harron . In addition, she also played in Hollywood films such as Bounty - One Will Pay (1996) with Mel Gibson and Das Geisterschloss (1999) alongside Liam Neeson , Catherine Zeta-Jones and Owen Wilson .

For her portrayal in Abel Ferrara's film The Addiction , she was nominated for the 1996 Independent Spirit Award for Best Actress .

She has also appeared several times in television productions, for example in the two-part television series Anne Frank (2001) as Miep Gies and in the journalistic drama Live from Baghdad . She has guest appearances in series like The X-Files and Crazy About You , and she played Nate's wife Lisa in Six Feet Under .

In 2014, she appeared with Chloë Grace Moretz and directed by Steven Soderbergh at the New York Public Theater in The Library , an adaptation of Dave Cullen's book Columbine about the Littleton School Massacre .

Lili Taylor has been married to the writer Nick Flynn since 2009 . The couple have one child and live in New York City .
