Almost Human is an American science fiction - television series of JH Wyman . It was produced by Bad Robot Productions and Warner Bros. Television for the US broadcaster Fox . Executive producers were Wyman, Bryan Burk and JJ Abrams . The series consists of a season of 13 episodes and was shown in the United States from November 17, 2013 through March 3, 2014. In Germany, the series premiered on October 6, 2014 on Sat.1 .

action

In 2048, the people of the Los Angeles Police Department are working alongside lifelike androids . Detective John Kennex has had an aversion to these androids since one of them let his partner die in a gun fight because other wounded had a higher statistical chance of survival. After Kennex resumes service two years later and promptly destroys the android assigned to him, the outdated model DRN-0167 , called "Dorian", is made available to him as a replacement . Its series was discontinued because it is equipped with a revolutionary "synthetic soul" that enables human-like emotions, but often leads to mental breakdowns in the androids.

The two begin to investigate murder cases together, and against his will, Kennex learns to appreciate his "almost human" partner more and more.

The original airing date was November 4, 2013, but Fox announced a two-week postponement, bringing the pilot episode on Sunday, November 17, 2013, following a much-watched NFL game . The second episode aired a day later on its regular slot . The remaining eleven episodes ran there until March 3, 2014. With an average of 6.24 million viewers and a target group rating of 1.88 percent, Almost Human's audience ratings were not outstanding, but the series was able to maintain its ratings relatively well. When Fox's new drama pilots had good prospects of receiving an order, it was announced in late April 2014 that Almost Human would not receive a second season.

Germany

In Germany, the broadcaster Sat.1 began broadcasting on October 6, 2014. It shows the episodes deviating from the US original broadcast order in the order specified by the producers.

International

The series was also dubbed in French . A broadcast in Belgium took place from July 27, 2014 on La Deux . In the Canadian province of Québec , the television series will be broadcast in French synchronization from November 24, 2014 on Ztélé .
