Bad Robot Productions (previously just Bad Robot) is a production company owned by JJ Abrams . She is best known for the television series Alias - Die Agentin , Lost and Fringe - Borderline cases by the FBI , as well as for the movies Star Trek and Mission: Impossible - Phantom Protocol .
Bad Robot was originally part of Touchstone Television , but moved with JJ Abrams to Paramount Pictures , Universal Studios , Columbia Pictures , Screen Gems , Walt Disney Pictures , Lionsgate and Warner Bros. after Touchstone's contract expired in 2006. Bad Robot produced Lost in association with ABC Studios , formerly Touchstone Television. The two companies also produced Six Degrees and What About Brian together .
Abrams is Chairman / Chief Executive Officer and Bryan Burk is Executive Vice President of the firm.
The company's production logo has existed since 2001 and includes a red rectangular robot walking silhouetted through a meadow before suddenly standing in front of the camera, followed by “Baaad Robot!” In a voice-over from Abrams' children Gracie and Henry .
