Spyglass Entertainment
Spyglass Entertainment is an American film production company based in Los Angeles . The company was founded in 1998 by Gary Barber and Roger Birnbaum with the participation of the Kirch Group , Mediaset and the Walt Disney Company . With Disney there was a five-year contract, which is why Spyglass initially mainly loaned Disney productions. Spyglass is currently part of the holding company Cerberus Capital Management .
At the end of December 2010, Barber and Birnbaum became Co- Chairmen and Co- CEOs of the holding of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, which has been insolvent since November 2010 . Since then, Spyglass has scaled back its own projects and produced only a few films.
In October 2012, Birnbaum announced his intention to withdraw from the MGM chairmanship in order to return actively to the production business.
