history

Under the direction of the film producer Graham King , successful films were made before the company was founded, including Gangs of New York , Aviator and Departed - Unter Feinden are among the most successful. After his film success, Graham founded GK Films in May 2007. In January 2010 the subsidiary GK-TV was established , which carries out worldwide television productions, the latest project is the series Camelot with Joseph Fiennes and Eva Green .

In 2010 GK Films commissioned Revenge with Mel Gibson and The Tourist with Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp in the lead roles. In 2011 the company produced The Rum Diary, starring Johnny Depp and Amber Heard . The film is a co-production by GK Films and Infinitum Nihil (Johnny Depp's film production company) and the adaptation was released in US cinemas in October . In the same year Hugo Cabret was also produced by director Martin Scorsese . The film premiered on October 10, 2011 as “work-in-progress” (in English: “unfinished work”). Hugo Cabret was shown in 3D in US cinemas on November 23, 2011 and was released in German cinemas in February 2012. The film adaptation of the novel is based on the book The Invention of Hugo Cabret , published in 2008, by the American writer Brian Selznick .
