Graham King

Graham King , OBE (born December 19, 1961 in England ) is a British film producer . He is the chairman and president of Initial Entertainment Group and a co-founder of GK Films , an independent film production and financing company.

biography

In the early 1980s, Graham King moved to Los Angeles , where he initially worked for 20th Century Fox . After five years he went to Cori Films . In 1991 he founded the Initial Entertainment Group and produced some successful films such as Traffic , Desert Saints , and the Scorsese films Gangs of New York , Aviator and Departed . For the latter, King was awarded the 2007 Oscar for Best Picture .

In May 2007 he founded the independent production company GK Films with Tim Headington . The first productions were the action film Revenge by Martin Campbell and the period film Victoria, the Young Queen . On December 31, 2009, Graham King was named "Officer of the Order of the British Empire" for his services to the British and US film industries.
