Jeannot Szwarc

Jeannot Szwarc (born November 21, 1939 in Paris ) is a French director .

Life

He began his director career in the early 1960s with a few episodes of the television series The Virginian . For the series Der Chef with Raymond Burr he worked as a director, screenwriter and producer. In the early 1970s he made various television films until he made his first feature film in 1973 with Extreme Close-Up based on a script by Michael Crichton . Up to his best-known film Jaws 2 from 1978, he shot various episodes of the series Kojak - Mission in Manhattan and Detective Rockford - a call is enough, as well as Columbo and the movie Fire Beetle , in addition to other television films . For his film A Deadly Dream , he received the award for best directorial work at the 1981 Fantafestival . He then made two less successful movies, Supergirl and Santa Claus (1985), until he returned to television work in the early 1990s.
