Brad Anderson (born 1964 in Madison , Connecticut ) is an American film director and screenwriter .

Life

Brad Anderson studied film history at Bowdoin College and film production in London . Brad Anderson's first film, The Darien Gap , premiered at the 1996 Sundance Film Festival . A year later, Anderson was named one of the "Ten Leading New Independent Directors to Watch" by the industry journal Variety .

His second film, Next Stop Wonderland , starring Hope Davis and Philip Seymour Hoffman , was also shown at the Sundance Film Festival . Miramax won the bid from several distributors who were interested in the production . With this film he won the Grand Prix and the Audience Award at the Festival of American Film in Deauville and the Excellence in Filmmaking Award from the National Board of Review .
