Madison is a city in New Haven County in the US state of Connecticut with 18,269 inhabitants (as of: 2010 census ) The city has a central location on the Long Island Sound coastline of Connecticut. First settlers reached Madison in 1641. In the 18th century, Madison was known as East Guilford until it was promoted to city in 1826.
