Masters of Horror is anAmerican horror television series producedby Mick Garris from 2005 to 2007 for Showtime . Each episode of the series was directed by a different well-known horror film director and contains a separate short film.

Two complete seasons with 13 episodes each were produced. After Showtime decided against a third season, Mick Garris has been producing a horror television series for NBC since 2008 based on the same idea under the name Fear Itself .

In Germany, the series has so far been released on DVD and is available as a monthly package from "maxdome". Although released for ages 18 and over, some episodes have been shortened compared to the original version.

Offshoot

In 2007 the series Masters of Science Fiction , which is based on the concept of Masters of Horror and was produced by its makers, was broadcast in the USA .

  • In 2006, Ed Shearmur won an Emmy for the series' main title .
