action
When Christian, alias Martin Terrier, successfully returns from Morocco from a murder assignment, he finds his buddy Michel crying, grieving over his mother. Christian is determined to quit his job as a professional killer and spend his retirement years in peace.
But his client, Cox, does not want to dismiss him from the "organization" and offers him a new job. Christian accepts on condition that this will be his last killer job. When Christian wants to close his accounts in order to quickly disappear with the money, he learns from his finance broker that he is the owner of a turkey farm. But before he can tour the farm, Borévitch, a new killer from Cox, visits him. Christian turns him off and leaves town.
On the farm he meets the caretaker Claire and her husband. They fall in love and sleep together. But happiness is suddenly disturbed when terrorists raid the farm and demand money. Claire's husband is killed and Christian kills the terrorists. He flees to Paris with Claire. There he finds his finance broker dead and finds that his fortune has disappeared.
Christian turns to Cox, who offers him the job of killing a sheikh for the sum of one million francs. When Christian realizes that he is being tricked, he turns the tables and saves Claire from the hands of Cox's men. Michel and Christian raid Cox's office, kill him and rob the safe. Michel is seriously injured. During the joint escape, the dying Michel confesses that he put the command on him and stole the money in order to be able to succeed him. Christian has been aware of this for a long time and Michel dies in his arms. The next morning Christian and Claire fly towards freedom.
criticism
“A dozen story with listless acting main actors. The components of a successful gangster film are so unimaginatively connected that hardly any tension arises in the course of the bloody but lame plot. "
Special
The plot of the 1995 action thriller Assassins with Sylvester Stallone and Antonio Banderas is reminiscent of this film in many details.
Remake of Manchette's novel: The Gunman (2015), with Sean Penn .
