Scott Hicks
Scott Hicks (born March 4, 1953 in Uganda ) is an Australian film director who became famous in the 1990s for the Oscar-nominated film Shine .
Life
Hicks, born and raised in East Africa, graduated from Flinders University , South Australia (BA Honors) in 1975 and received an honorary doctorate in 1997. He lives in Adelaide , South Australia with his wife, producer Kerry Heysen . They have two sons, Scott and Jethro.
Honors
For Shine , he was in 1997 in the categories of Best Director and Best Screenplay for a Oscar and the BAFTA in the category Best Picture nomination.
