Douglas McGrath

Douglas McGrath (* 1958 ) is an American screenwriter, film director and actor.

Life

McGrath began his career as a screenwriter for Saturday Night Live in the early 1980s. In 1989 he was involved in an episode of the LA Law series - Star Lawyers, Tricks, Trials , followed by the scripts for Blondes You Don't Kiss (1993) and Bullets Over Broadway (1994). For the latter he was nominated together with Woody Allen in 1995 for an Oscar in the category Best Original Screenplay. Since the 1990s, McGrath has also been active as an actor in smaller roles. So he was u. a. Seen in Happiness in 1998 .

He made his directorial debut with Emma in 1996 . Four more feature films followed, for which he also wrote the script. An exception to this is Der absolut normal Wahnsinn - Working Mum (2011). With His Way he also staged a documentary for television.
