Doug McGrath

Doug McGrath (born April 13, 1935 in Vancouver , British Columbia ) is a Canadian actor .

Life

McGrath began his acting career with one of the lead roles in Donald Shebib's Until the End of the Street . The drama was a huge hit and won Best Picture at the Canadian Film Awards , with McGrath Best Actor. After this success he continued to shoot films in his Canadian homeland, including the horror film Jessy - The Stairway to Death . In the mid-1970s he moved to Hollywood and worked for the western Der Texaner for the first time with Clint Eastwood . With The Man Who Never Gives Up , Bronco Billy and Pale Rider - The Nameless Rider , three other joint films followed until 1985.

In 1982 he starred in the American-Canadian teen comedy Porky’s as Coach Warren , for which he received a Genie Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He had smaller roles in Steven Spielberg's Always - The Fire Angel of Montana and the Disney production Rocketeer . He has also appeared as a guest star on numerous television series such as Falcon Crest , Our Little Farm and Dallas . He was nominated for a Gemini Award in 2004 for his portrayal of Ralph in the Canadian television series This is Wonderland .

In 2011 he starred in Down the Road Again , the sequel to his first film Until the End of the Road .
