Eric Johnson (screenwriter)

Eric Johnson is an American screenwriter . Together with Paul Tamasy he developed the script for the film The Fighter . It took around ten years for the film to actually be made. The film earned them an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay with Scott Silver in 2011, as well as a nomination for the British Academy Film Awards in 2011 and for the Writers Guild of America Award . Johnson was also involved as an executive producer on the film.

Together with Silver and Tamasy, he provided the script for the 2016 film The Finest Hours . The two were also involved in the development of the script for Boston (2016), which is based on the attack on the Boston Marathon .
