Harold Jack Bloom

Harold Jack Bloom (born April 26, 1924 in New York City , † August 27, 1999 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American screenwriter.

Life

Bloom worked as a screenwriter from the late 1940s. His focus has always been on television. He developed his own television series with Emergency Call California in the 1970s and was involved as a writer on various series. Also in the 1970s he was involved as a producer on the film series Hec Ramsey . His last screenplay was made in 1989 for the television film Much Coal in a Suitcase . In total, Bloom was involved in more than 40 productions.

Bloom was originally intended as a screenwriter for the film James Bond 007 - You Only Live Twice . Ultimately, Roald Dahl submitted the final script and Bloom himself was named under "Additional Story Material by Harold Jack Bloom".

In 1954 , Bloom and Sam Rolfe were nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Original Screenplay for the screenplay for Naked Violence .

Bloom was married twice. From the marriage with the actress Carolyn Kearney (1930-2005) a child was born.
