Kristen Wiig
Kristen Carroll Wiig (born August 22, 1973 in Canandaigua , New York ) is an American actress , voice actress and comedian .
life and career
Kristen Wiig was born in Canandaigua , New York State , and grew up in Lancaster, Pennsylvania . After studying fine arts at the University of Arizona , she moved to Los Angeles .
Wiig was - as before her, among others, Will Ferrell and Conan O'Brien - active in the comedy troupe The Groundlings . From 2005 to 2012 she starred in the NBC comedy show Saturday Night Live and was nominated for an Emmy in the category Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 . In 2007 she played the role of Katherine Heigl's boss in The First Time . This was followed by other roles in films such as Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story , The Solomon Brothers (both 2007) and Adventureland (2009). In 2011, the film Bridal Alarm , which she wrote with Annie Mumolo and in which she played the lead role of Annie , was released. In 2012 she and Annie Mumolo were nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Original Screenplay for Bridal Alarm. With gross revenues of nearly $ 170 million in the US alone, this film proved a success.
