Diego Fabbri (1964)

Diego Fabbri (born July 2, 1911 in Forlì ; † August 14, 1980 in Riccione ) was an Italian playwright and screenwriter whose works mainly deal with Christian themes.

Life

Fabbri studied economics at the University of Bologna . From 1940 to 1950 he was director of the Catholic Center for Cinematography. From 1968 he was director of the Italian theater authority ETI. He wrote scripts for around 50 films. In 1962, his screenplay for The Wrong General was nominated for Best Screenplay at the Academy Awards . In 1977 he received an Antonio Feltrinelli Prize . Fabbri was posthumously honored by naming a theater in his native Forlì and a center at the University of Bologna.
