Norman Wexler
Norman Wexler (born August 6, 1926 in New Bedford , Massachusetts , † August 23, 1999 in Washington, DC ) was an American screenwriter .
Wexler studied at Harvard and then worked in New York as a newspaper reporter. In addition, he wrote plays for the theater. He received an Oscar nomination for his first screenplay for Joe , as well as for the next one for Serpico . His greatest success was the 1977 screenplay for Saturday Night Fever .
Wexler was later also hired as a script doctor for films like A woman sees red .
