action
Mark Kaminsky was once one of the FBI's most notorious agents for his harsh methods . One day, however, when he becomes too rude against the killer of a little girl, he has to quit to forestall prosecution and dismissal from prosecutor Baxter. Kaminsky then retreats to a sleepy small town in the American southern states, where he ensures order as sheriff .
After five years as a law enforcement officer, his former superior, FBI boss Harry Shannon, gives him the chance to be rehabilitated and hired again: In Chicago , the local mafia has almost taken control and is ruling with brutal hands, while the police and judiciary are corrupt be silenced with bribes. Harry's son was also killed while guarding a key witness. Kaminsky is therefore supposed to sneak into the organization under the false name of Joseph P. Brenner on Harry's private assignment and win the trust of the godfather Luigi Patrovita in order to create the conditions for breaking up the organization.
At first everything goes according to plan. Kaminsky becomes Patrovita's confidante and in the process eliminates his competitors within the mafia. However, when he falls in love with the mafia bride Monique, he makes a mistake with grave consequences: Monique works as a double agent for Patrovita's henchman Max. Max finally blows Kaminsky's cover.
Meanwhile, prosecutor Baxter turns out to be corrupt and also works for Patrovita. Max lures Kaminsky into a trap in which he is supposed to shoot his FBI friend and client Harry in a cemetery. When Kaminsky sees who to kill, however, he shoots Max instead. Harry, who was visiting his son's grave in the cemetery, is seriously injured in the shooting. Kaminsky drives back to town and shoots all the crooks, including mafia boss Patrovita himself and Baxter.
The organization is broken up and Kaminsky is returned to the FBI as a thank you.

Reviews
The film received mostly negative reviews. The film review portal Rotten Tomatoes gives 25% positive reviews for the film and it has a Metascore of 44 out of 100 on Metacritic .
Roger Ebert wrote in the Chicago Sun-Times on June 6, 1986 that the film at the end was far from the concept it initially pursued. Like the film Die City-Cobra, he sacrifices the plot, the characters, the logic, the plausibility, the art, the taste and the style to the “fetish of action without a break”.
The lexicon of the international film found: "Only interested in spectacular action and the blood-drenched ending, extremely questionable entertainment without directorial and acting qualities."
