John Irvin
John Irvin (born May 7, 1940 in Newcastle upon Tyne ) is a British film director.
Career
Irvin began his career directing documentaries in the late 1960s. This is how he turned Mafia No! in 1967, for which he was nominated for a British Film Academy Award in the category Best Short Film . In the mid-1970s he directed several television films. In 1981 he filmed the novel The Dogs of War by Frederick Forsyth .
