Hans-Jürgen Wolf (born August 22, 1950 in Haldensleben ; † March 20, 2018 in Berlin ) was a German voice actor , actor and radio play speaker .

Life

Wolf studied at the Rostock State Drama School . His best-known speaking roles include Megatron in the science fiction film Transformers , the role of Agent Smith (played by Hugo Weaving ) in the science fiction films of the Matrix series and the role of Merle Dixon (2010-2013), played by actor Michael Rooker in the internationally successful series The Walking Dead . In 2004 he received the German Award for Synchronization in the category of Outstandingly Synchronized TV Series for the series Band of Brothers - We were like brothers .

In the German dubbing of George Lucas ' film Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones , Wolf lent his voice to the character San Hill ; He also took on this role in the radio play adaptation of James Luceno's novel Labyrinth des Evil .

Hans-Jürgen Wolf found his final resting place in the Berlin forest cemetery Dahlem (field 007-189).
