Man with a Gun is a Canadian thriller from the year 1995 . Directed by David Wyles and written by Laurie Finstad-Knizhnik based on the novel The Shroud Society of Hugh C. Rae .

action

Contract killer John Wilbur Hardin and Jack Rushton work for a criminal organization led by Philip Marquand. Jack's wife Rena goes into hiding with a floppy disk containing the material that is incriminating the organization. She is asking for two million dollars for the release.

Hardin is tasked with killing Rena by Rushton. It is revealed that Rena and Hardin are having an affair. Rena gets the idea that her lover could kill her twin sister, Kathy Payne, and pass her corpse off as hers. Hardin has doubts because so far he has only killed guilty people. Meanwhile, Marquand Rushton's nephew assigns Roy Burchill to solve the problem.

Hardin kidnaps Payne, but does not kill her. Instead, he puts her on a train and gives her advice on how to go into hiding. He later sees Burchill and his people nearby, who think Payne is her twin sister. Hardin defends the woman from the gangsters, some of whom he kills. He and Payne are hiding in a house in the country.

Burchill is looking for Hardin and the wife; he and his men tortured a friend of Hardin's. It turns out that Rena is conspiring with Burchill. She shoots her accomplice. Meanwhile, Hardin returns to town, where he wants to end the hunt for Payne. He's meeting with Rushton.
