Kevin Pollak
Kevin Elliot Pollak (born October 30, 1957 in San Francisco , California ) is an American actor , screenwriter , film producer and comedian .
life and career
At the age of ten, Kevin Pollak appeared as a stand-up comedian and toured the USA with his own programs in the late 1970s. After he had already had minor appearances on television in the early 1980s, he made it to the big screen in 1988 with the fantasy film Willow by George Lucas . Two years later he starred in Barry Levinson's family saga Avalon . In 1992, he became known to a larger audience for his role in the court drama A Matter of Honor , in which he starred alongside Tom Cruise , Jack Nicholson and Demi Moore .
This was followed by films such as the comedies A Crazy Couple and The Third Spring - Friends, Enemies, Fish & Women , the Las Vegas - Drama Casino , the thriller The Chameleon , the musical film That Thing You Do! , the mystery thriller The Usual Suspects, and the thriller Outside Ozona . In 1997, Pollak developed and produced the television film The Underworld with his wife Lucy Webb . In the following four years he played, among others, in the thriller Deterrence , in the film comedy Sex Monster , in the film drama Buffalo '66 , in the Horror - Fantasy -Thriller End of Days - night without morning , in the crime comedy The Whole Nine Yards and the comedy Wedding Planner - In love, engaged, planned .
2001 Pollak ventured a stage - comeback and toured 20 cities in the United States. After the tour ended , roles in the comedies Dr. Dolittle 2 , No half measures 2 - especially now! and the thriller Hostage . Since then he has also increasingly devoted himself to independent film . In 2004 and 2006 he worked in Gary B. Yates ' film dramas Seven Times Lucky and Niagara Motel and in 2011 in the action horror thriller Red State .
In 1999, Pollak was nominated for a Golden Satellite Award for his role in the television series From the Earth to the Moon . A year later, he received a Blockbuster Entertainment Award nomination for his role in End of Days . In 1995, he and the cast of The Usual Suspects received the NBR Award from the National Board of Review Award .
Pollak is a comedian who is equally active as a character actor.
