Peter Bause (born December 15, 1941 in Gotha ) is a German actor and entertainer .

Life

At the age of 17, Bause became head of the youth post office in Magdeburg . At Deutsche Post he became a member of the Dramatic Circle, where his talent for acting was soon discovered. In Leipzig he attended drama school until 1963 and got his first job in Neustrelitz and then at the Rostock Volkstheater . He had his first national successes with Bertolt Brecht's “Refugee Talks” directed by Hans Bunge .

In Berlin, Peter Bause performed at the Deutsches Theater for eight years before moving to the Berliner Ensemble at the Theater am Schiffbauerdamm , of which he was a member until 1993. After that he toured the country very successfully with the one-person piece by Patrick Süskind The Double Bass . This was followed by engagements u. a. at the Dresdner Schauspielhaus , Theaterkahn Dresden , Komödie Berlin / Dresden / Hamburg, Volkstheater Munich , Summer Festival Bad Hersfeld, Burgfestspiele Jagsthausen , Theater Lüneburg , Euro-Studio Landgraf , Altonaer Theater Hamburg, Schlosspark-Theater Berlin.

On television, Peter Bause played the teacher Dumbeck in Our Teacher Doctor Specht and leading roles in Ein Bayer auf Rügen as well as in the series Mordslust , " Unter uns ", " Praxis Bülowbogen " and " Liebling Kreuzberg ".

Peter Bause was a lecturer at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin .

Bause lives in Berlin-Biesdorf, is married to the actress Hellena Büttner and has two daughters.

In 2017 Peter Bause received the Hamburg - Rolf Mares Theater Prize for his performance in the one-person play "Place of Birth: Bergen Belsen" at the Hamburger Kammerspiele (directed by Axel Schneider).
