Heinz-Jürgen Zierke

Heinz-Jürgen Zierke (born July 8, 1926 in Marienthal , Greifenhagen district , Pomerania; † December 23, 2015 in Prenzlau ) was a German dramaturge and author .

Life

Zierke first attended elementary school in Wildenbruch , then the teacher training institute in Neisse and Patschkau , before he was called up for the Reich Labor Service . During the Second World War he was drafted as a soldier and was taken prisoner by the Soviets . After his return from captivity, he attended the preparatory college in Greifswald and began studying German , which he did not finish. From 1950 Zierke worked as a dramaturge at the Greifswald Theater and the Stralsund Theater. From 1952 to 1962 he was cultural functionary and from 1962 to 1966 chief dramaturge of the state village ensemble of the GDR . In addition to his work at the theater, Zierke was also a freelance author from 1966. He lived in Stralsund from 1969 to 2013 , then in Prenzlau .
