Jochen Petersdorf

Jochen Petersdorf (born October 12, 1934 in Liegnitz , Lower Silesia , † March 18, 2008 in Berlin ) was a German satirist .

Life

After studying journalism in Leipzig (1954–1958), Petersdorf became a newspaper editor . From 1960 to 1986 he worked for the Berlin satirical magazine Eulenspiegel , where he and Johannes Conrad developed the Funzel supplement, the “evening paper for cloudy hours”, committed to nonsense. As the author of the Eulenspiegel publishing house , he reached an audience of millions with his funzel books . Later he enriched the television world a. a. at Christmas time with his appearances in the entertainment program Between Breakfast and Roast Goose , in which he describes his modern fairy talesread out. In it, Petersdorf parodied classic fairy tales by making numerous references to everyday life in the GDR . After 1986 he worked as a freelance author, although his readers remained loyal to him even after the end of the GDR. In 1997, the fat Petersdorf book was published for the first time , which experienced several editions. His last book, You Will Be Allowed To Ask, was published shortly before his death. Jochen Petersdorf died in Berlin after a long and serious illness. His grave is in the series of artists' graves at the Friedrichsfelde central cemetery .

Petersdorf's younger brother is the sports official Klaus Petersdorf .
