Carl Lumbly
Carl Lumbly (born August 14, 1952 in Minneapolis , Minnesota ) is an American actor and voice actor .
Lumbly, the son of Jamaican immigrants, first wrote for the Associated Press in Minneapolis and for various other magazines. While writing a story about a comedy theater, he discovered his stage qualities and appeared as a comedian for two years.
When he moved to San Francisco , he befriended and performed with the still unknown Danny Glover . His first success in the movie business was in the 1981 television series Cagney & Lacey . In 1998 he was also seen on television with Halle Berry in The Wedding . In 2006 he made a guest appearance in the remake of the science fiction series Battlestar Galactica .
He has also appeared on the big screen, namely in Men of Honor with Robert De Niro , Cuba Gooding Jr. and Charlize Theron .
He also plays an important supporting role in the television series Alias , where he plays Marcus R. Dixon. In the first two seasons he is a partner, from the third season onwards he is the superior of Sidney Bristow ( Jennifer Garner ).
He also took part in the movie scenes of the computer game Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars in the expansion Kane's Revenge , where he played Brother Marcion, who leads a new faction that has fallen away from the Brotherhood of Nod , the Black Hand .
Lumbly was married to actress Vonetta McGee , who died in 2010, since 1987 and has one child.
