Kathryn Harrold (* 2. August 1950 in Tazewell , Virginia ) is an American actress .

Life

After graduating from Mills College in Oakland, Harrold trained as an actor with Sanford Meisner and Uta Hagen at the Herbert Berghof Studio in New York City . In the mid-1970s, she gave acting classes at New York University . Between 1976 and 1978 she starred as Nola Dancy Aldrich in the soap opera The Doctors , and she also made her television debut in the series. In the years that followed, she starred in several television films and had a recurring guest role in the series Detective Rockford - Call Enough . In 1979 she was first seen on the big screen; she played the lead role alongside Nick Mancuso in Arthur Hiller's only horror film Swinging Fear . This was the prelude to a short feature film career in the early 1980s, followed by female lead roles in Steve McQueen's last film, Every Head Has Its Price , alongside Albert Brooks in Modern Romance - Does Love Have to Be a Nightmare? , alongside Robert Duvall in The Hunt and Luciano Pavarotti's only film, Beloved Giorgio .
