Robert "Bobby" Moresco (born April 1, 1951 ) is an American film actor , producer , director and screenwriter who received numerous awards for the screenplay of LA Crash (2004) together with director Paul Haggis .

biography

Moresco was initially an actor and made his debut in 1979 in the Philadelphia Clan of William Richert , before he then mostly appeared in individual episodes of television series such as The Equalizer , Miami Vice and Law & Order .

In the mid-1990s he began working as a producer and screenwriter and was involved in the creation of television series such as EZ Streets and MillenniuM .

He had with the director Paul Haggis staged the biggest success of his career so far episodic film - drama Crash it in 2004 for his screenplay with Haggis at the Oscar ceremony in 2006 the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay was awarded. Other awards include the British Academy Film Awards 2006 for Best Original Screenplay , the Black Movie Award for Outstanding Film 2005, the Broadcast Film Critics Association Award for Best Screenplay 2006, the Chicago Film Critics Association Award for Best Original Screenplay 2006, the Edgar Allan Poe Award for Best Screenplay 2006, the Humanitas Award in the Film Category 2006, the Independent Spirit Award for Best First Work 2006, the Las Vegas Film Critics Society Award for Best Screenplay 2006, the London Critics' Circle Film Award for Best Screenwriter 2006, Online Film Critics Society Award for Best Original Screenplay in 2005, Southeastern Film Critics Association Award for Best Original Screenplay , Washington DC Area Film Critics Association Award for Best Original Screenplay in 2005, and the Writers Guild of America Award (WGA Award) for Best Original Screenplay 2006. There were also Haggis and Moresco nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Screenplay in 2006 and the Satellite Award for Most Outstanding Original Screenplay in 2005.

His later directorial roles include Hell's Kitchen (2001) with Chazz Palminteri and Streets of Philadelphia (2006). He also wrote the scripts for the television series The Black Donnellys (2007) with Haggis and was co-producer of Million Dollar Baby (2004) and producer of the series LA Crash (2009).

Moresco is the father of actress and screenwriter Amanda Moresco .
