Lisa Cholodenko

Lisa Cholodenko (born June 5, 1964 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American filmmaker.

Life

Cholodenko grew up in Los Angeles. There she obtained a Master of Fine Arts from Columbia University's School of the Arts .

Her short film Dinner Party has already received an award. The High Art feature won the Waldo Salt Award for Screenwriting at the Sundance Film Festival , and Ally Sheedy received the National Society of Film Critics Award for her acting . Both High Art and Laurel Canyon premiered at Director's Fortnight in Cannes. Her latest work, The Kids Are All Right , won the Teddy Award for the best gay and lesbian feature film at the 60th Berlin Film Festival . At the 2011 Academy Awards , Cholodenko also received two nominations in the categories of Best Picture and Best Screenplay.
