Ally Sheedy (* 13. June 1962 as Alexandra Elizabeth Sheedy in New York City , New York ) is an American actress .

Life

Sheedy was part of the Brat Pack in the mid-1980s . She was best known for her roles in WarGames , The Breakfast Club, and St. Elmo's Fire - The Passion Burns Deep . In the 1990s she was unable to build on earlier successes and worked mainly for television. In 1999 she received the Acting Award of the American film critics association National Society of Film Critics for her role as the lesbian star photographer Lucy Berliner in the film High Art .

In contrast, she was also nominated for the Golden Raspberry for Worst Actress in 1987 for her performance in Blue City .

Sheedy married actor David Lansbury , nephew of actress Angela Lansbury , on October 10, 1992 . The two have a daughter (born March 1994). In May 2008, Sheedy and her husband separated amicably and filed for divorce.
