Marcel Moussy

Marcel Paul Jean Moussy (* 7. May 1924 in Algiers , Algeria ; † 10. August 1995 in Caen , Calvados ) was a French writer - and Roman author and film director , who in 1960 for the Oscar was nominated for Best Original Screenplay.

Life

Moussy published his first novel with Le sang chaud in 1952 and began his work in the film industry in 1959 with the screenplay for You kissed and they beat him (Les Quatre Cents Coups) by François Truffaut with Jean-Pierre Léaud , Claire Maurier and Albert Rémy . For this first work he was nominated together with Truffaut at the Academy Awards in 1960 for the Oscar for the best original screenplay. Until 1986 he worked as a screenwriter in the production of over twenty films.

In addition to his work as a screenwriter, he also began working as a director in 1961 and created his first film with the comedy Amour in St. Tropez (Saint-Tropez Blues) in which Marie Laforêt , Jacques Higelin and Pierre Michaël played the leading roles. Until 1986 he directed fourteen films and television series, which were often based on his templates and scripts.
