Albert Rémy

Albert Rémy (born April 9, 1915 in Sèvres , Hauts-de-Seine department , † January 26, 1967 in Paris ) was a French actor.

Life

After his film debut in 1943, Rémy played in around 80 films until the year of his death, although he rarely got beyond supporting roles in his entire film career. The character actor also played in a dozen television films and series from the 1950s. Rémy often played comical minor characters, often policemen, waiters and once even Louis XVI. in The young general . He is best known today for two roles in the early works of François Truffaut : He played Antonie Doinel's hapless stepfather in You kissed and they beat him (1959) and the brother of Charles Aznavour's title character in Shoot at the Pianist (1960). After these two successes, Rémy also appeared in a number of international films in the 1960s, including John Frankenheimer's Der Zug (1964) and René Cléments Brennt Paris? (1966).

After working as an actor to the end, Remy died of cancer in 1967 at the age of only 51.
