Murray Schisgal

Murray Schisgal (born November 25, 1926 in New York City , New York - † October 1, 2020 in Port Chester , New York) was an American author , screenwriter and playwright .

Life

Shisgal was born the son of Lithuanian immigrants. He began to write in his youth, but he only achieved fame some time later with his plays "Tipse - Tipser" (The Typists) and "The Tiger" (1960), which were successfully staged on Broadway . From the 1960s he also wrote screenplays such as "What about Love", "Boys and Girls" and "Tootsie". Schisgal died in October 2020 at the age of 93.
