Courtney Hunt (born 1964 in Memphis , Tennessee ) is an American screenwriter and director .
Life
Courtney Hunt made her directorial debut in 2008 with the film Frozen River , for which she also wrote the screenplay. She received numerous awards for her first work, including the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival , an Oscar nomination , the Independent Spirit Award, and the Satellite Award for Best Original Screenplay. She also won a Gotham Award , a New York Film Critics Circle Award for best first work , and other prizes at various film festivals.
Hunt then directed several episodes of the television series In Treatment, starring Gabriel Byrne, and an episode of the long-running crime series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit . 2016 followed with The Whole Truth - Lügenspiel her second feature film. the year after she directed an episode of the series Fear the Walking Dead .
