Jay Cocks
Jay Cocks (born January 12, 1944 in New York City ) is an American screenwriter and film critic.
Cocks studied at Kenyon College and worked as a film critic for Time magazine . He has been a full-time screenwriter since 1993. Cocks mainly works with director Martin Scorsese , including on the film Silence in 2016 .
His work on the Titanic script was not mentioned in the credits.
In his career so far, Cocks has been nominated twice for an Oscar . 1994 for Best Adapted Screenplay for Time of Innocence and 2003 for Best Screenplay for Gangs of New York .
