Academy Awards 1930 (November)
The November 1930 Academy Awards took place on November 5, 1930 at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles . It was the 3rd Annual Academy Awards . Films from the period between August 1, 1929 and July 31, 1930 were honored. Both the second and the third awards took place in 1930. This compensation made it possible to recognize films from the previous calendar year at future awards.
For the first time an Oscar was awarded in the category “Best Sound” (Best Sound Recording) .
