Julien Josephson

Julien Josephson ; and Julian Josephson (* 24. October 1881 in Roseburg , Oregon ; † 14. April 1959 in Hollywood , California ) was an American screenwriter .

Life

Julien Josephson began as a model writer and author of intertitles of silent films in the film industry in Hollywood , appeared for the first time in 1914 at The Arrow Maker's Daughter in the creation of a film and his career over 70 films participated in the course. At the Academy Awards in November 1930 he was nominated for Disraeli (1929) for the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay .

Other well-known films based on his templates and scripts include Lady Windermeres Fächer (1925), Die neue Heimat (1928), Alexander Hamilton (1931), The Green Goddess (1930), Heidi (1937), Recruit Willie Winkie ( 1937) and Night Over India (1939). Josephson has worked with film directors such as Ernst Lubitsch , William K. Howard , John G. Adolfi , Alfred E. Green , Allan Dwan , John Ford and Clarence Brown .
