William K. Howard
William K. Howard (born June 16, 1899 in St. Marys (Ohio) , † February 21, 1954 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American film director .
Life
William K. Howard began his film career as a film distributor and sales consultant. After working briefly as an assistant director , he made his first film as a director in 1921. Howard specialized in social comedies , crime novels, and melodramas . After the introduction of the sound film , he was responsible for a number of successful films. His most famous film, the period drama Fire Over England , was made during a two-year stay in England. After returning to the USA, he was unable to continue this successful period.
