I'll fight

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'll Fight is a song that was written for the documentary RBG - A Life for Justice by Diane Warren . It was at the Oscar ceremony in 2019 as best song for an Oscar nomination.

publication

The song runs during the credits of RBG - A Life for Justice and is sung by Jennifer Hudson . From Warren's point of view, Hudson was the perfect voice, as she could sing gently but powerfully like Ruth Bader Ginsburg (RBG). The main thing Warren wanted to capture was the fact that Ginsberg never raises his voice in an argument, but still speaks powerfully.

Simultaneously with the premiere of the film, the single was released on May 4, 2018 on Epic Records .

At the 2019 Oscar Gala, Jennifer Hudson sang I´ll Fight . This was not originally certain, as it was planned that not all nominated songs should be played, but only two. The songs Shallow by Lady Gaga and All the Stars by Kendrick Lamar and SZA were considered set.

nomination

I'll Fight was nominated for an Oscar for best movie song in 2019, but Shallow was beaten by Lady Gaga , Mark Ronson , Anthony Rossomando and Andrew Wyatt from A Star Is Born .
