Tim Cavagin
Tim Cavagin (* 20th century ) is a British sound engineer .
Career
Tim Cavagin's career in film began in 1990 in the field of dubbing . He has been with London- based Twickenham Studios since 1996 . In the 1990s he took part in the works The Hour of the Seducer , Mary Reilly , Lawn Dogs - Secret Friends , Hidden Fire , Seven Years in Tibet and Donnie Brasco . For his participation in the psychological thriller The Others , by Alejandro Amenábar and with Nicole Kidman in the lead role, Cavagin received a Goya in the category " Best Sound " in 2002 . He was also nominated at the Satellite Awards in the “ Best Sound Editing ” category, but the award went to the team from The Lord of the Rings: The Companions .
He was responsible for re-recording the films Final Portrait by Stanley Tucci and Baby Driver by Edgar Wright , both of which were released in 2017. For the latter film, he was responsible for this with his colleagues Mary H. Ellis and Julian Slater , who received numerous nominations for awards because of their work. He and his colleagues received a Best Sound nomination at the British Academy Film Awards 2018 , but the award was given to the competition for their work on the film Dunkirk . They also received an Oscar nomination in the same category at the 2018 Academy Awards .
Tim Cavagin has worked for several film directors, including Asif Kapadia ( Senna , Amy ), Mikael Håfström ( Room 1408 , Shanghai ), John Duigan ( Seduction of the Sirens , The Seducers ' Hour , Lawn Dogs - Secret Friends ) and John Madden ( Killshot , An open account , Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and its continuation ).
In 2018 he was appointed to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences , which awards the Oscars every year.
