Kosewo Górne [ kɔˈsɛvɔ ˈɡurnɛ ] ( German Ober Kossewen , 1938 to 1945 Oberrechenberg ) is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . He belongs to the Gmina Mrągowo ( rural community Sensburg ) in the powiat Mrągowski (district Sensburg ).
Geographical location
Kosewo Górne is located in the southern center of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship, ten kilometers southeast of the district town of Mrągowo ( German Sensburg ).
history
In 1866 Ober Kossewen was mentioned for the first time with several smaller farms. As a living space within the rural community of Kossewen (1938 to 1945 Rechenberg (Ostpr.) , Kosewo in Polish ) it belonged to the Sensburg district in the Gumbinnen district until 1945 (from 1905: Allenstein district ) in the Prussian province of East Prussia . The inhabitants in 1905 amounted to 223. On June 3 (officially confirmed on 16 July) 1938 Upper Kossewen was foreign-appearing place names in "Upper Rechenberg" for political and ideological reasons of defense renamed .
In 1945 southern East Prussia and with it Oberrechenberg were transferred to Poland as a result of the war and received the Polish name form "Kosewo Górne". Today it belongs to the Schulzenamt ( Polish Sołectwo ) Kosewo within the Gmina Mrągowo (rural municipality Sensburg ) in the powiat Mrągowski ( Sensburg district ), until 1998 the Olsztyn Voivodeship ( Allenstein in German ), since then it has belonged to the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .

Until 1945 Ober Kossewen was parish in the Protestant Church of Barranowen (1938 to 1945 Hoverbeck , Polish Baranowo ) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Roman Catholic Church of St. Adalbert Sensburg in the Diocese of Warmia .
Today Kosewo Górne belongs to the Catholic parish Kosewo in the Archdiocese of Warmia of the Polish Catholic Church . The Protestant church members orientate themselves towards the parish church Mrągowo in the diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

Kosewo Górne is located east of a side road that connects the Polish state road 16 (former German Reichsstraße 127 ) near Kosewo (Kossewen , 1938 to 1945 Rechenberg (East Pr.)) With the province road 610 near Dobry Lasek (Guttenwalde) .
Attractions
The Stacja Badawcza Instytutu Parazytologii Polskiej Akademii Nauk is located in Kosewo Górne . In the deer farm, various animals can be observed under natural conditions in enclosures. Attached is a small museum with a collection of antlers.
