history

The small village of Bieberstein was founded on March 22, 1838 as a Vorwerk zu Baranowen (1938 to 1945 Hoverbeck , Polish Baranowo ) and was a manor village from 1871. As such, it came to the district of Proberg ( Nowy Probark in Polish ) in 1874 , which existed until 1945 and belonged to the Sensburg district in the Gumbinnen district (from 1905: Allenstein district ) in the Prussian province of East Prussia . The manor district of Bieberstein had 47 inhabitants in 1910.

On September 30, 1928, Bieberstein gave up its independence and was incorporated into the neighboring municipality of Wiersbau (1938 to 1945 Lockwinnen , Polish Wierzbowo ).

As a result of the war, Bieberstein came to Poland in 1945 along with all of southern East Prussia and received the Polish name form "Wólka Baranowska".
