Joachimowo [ jɔaxiˈmɔvɔ ] ( German Joachimowen , 1938 to 1945 Joachimshuben ) is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the Gmina Mrągowo ( rural community Sensburg ) in the Powiat Mrągowski ( Sensburg district ).
Geographical location
Joachimowo is located 500 meters west of the Sarg Lake ( Jezioro Sarż in Polish ) in the middle of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , eight kilometers southwest of the district town of Mrągowo ( Sensburg in German ).
history
Joachimowen was the settlement of a forester's house belonging to the forest Sorquitten (Polish Sorkwity ) . It had six inhabitants in 1885 and twelve in 1905. On September 30, 1928, the new rural community Sorquitten in the East Prussian district of Sensburg was formed from the manor districts Groß Joachimowen , Klein Joachimowen , Millucken (now in Polish : Miłuki ) and Sorquitten ( Sorkwity ) with the forester's lodge Joachimowen . In 1938 the village was renamed to "Joachimshuben" for political and ideological reasons to ward off foreign-sounding place names .
The small town has belonged to Poland since 1945 and bears the Polish form of the name "Joachimowo". Today it is a town within the Gmina Mrągowo (Town Sensburg ) in mrągowo county (Kreis Sensburg ) until 1998, the Olsztyn Province (Olsztyn) , since the Warmia and Mazury belong.
church
Joachimowen resp. Joachimshuben was parish in the Protestant Church of Sorquitten (Polish: Sorkwity ) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic Church in Stanislewo (1931 to 1945 Sternsee , Polish : Stanclewo ) in what was then the Diocese of Warmia .
Joachimowo still belongs to the Protestant parish of Sorkwity today, but is now located in the Masuria diocese of the Evangelical Augsburg Church in Poland . On the Catholic side, too, Joahimowo is now oriented towards Sorkwity, which now belongs to the Archdiocese of Warmia in the Polish Catholic Church .
traffic
Joachimowo is located north of the traffic-technically important Polish state road 16 (formerly German Reichsstraße 127 ) and can be reached from Bagienice (Alt Bagnowen , 1938 to 1945 Althöfen) as well as from Janowo (Janowen , 1928 to 1945 Heinrichsdorf) . There is no rail network connection.
