Diocese of Mazury
The diocese of Mazury (Polish : diecezja mazurska) is one of six dioceses of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland . The official seat is in Olsztyn (Allenstein) .
location
The diocese of Mazury is located in the north-east of Poland . In the north, its territory extends to the border with the Russian region of Kaliningrad (formerly Königsberg ). In the east it borders on Belarus , in the south on the Diocese of Warsaw , and in the west on the Diocese of Pomerania-Greater Poland . With an area of 44,000 km², its area includes the Polish Warmian-Masurian and Podlaskie Voivodeships .
organization structure
The bishop is the spiritual director of the diocese and the spiritual head of all pastors there . Rudolf Bażanowski held this position from 1992 , which he handed over to Paweł Häuser in 2018 .
Diocesan Council
Together with the diocesan curator Jan Kisza , the pastoral councilor Krzysztof Mutschmann and the diocesan councilor Wanda Wróblewska, the bishop forms the diocesan council until 2018.
In 2018, Tomasz Wigłasz succeeded Krzysztof Mutschmann as the new pastoral care council, while Wanda Wróblewska succeeded Jan Kisza as diocesan curator. Ryszard Jerosz became a diocesan councilor.
Diocesan Synod
The highest decision-making body in the diocese is the diocesan synod , to which all parishes send delegates. In addition, the diocese sends delegates to the church synod of the Evangelical Augsburg Church in Poland .
Official seat
According to the rules of the church, the office of the diocese is the respective place in which the bishop had his sphere of activity before taking office as priest.
