Brodzikowo [ brɔd͡ʑiˈkɔvɔ ] ( German  Marienhof ) is a small village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the Gmina Mrągowo ( rural community Sensburg ) in the powiat Mrągowski ( Sensburg district ).

Geographical location

Brodzikowo is located in the heart of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , nine kilometers north of the district town of Mrągowo ( German  Sensburg ).

history

As a small estate on what was then Marien-Teich , Marienhof was a residential area in the municipality of Weißenburg ( Wyszembork in Polish ) before 1945 . It had 27 inhabitants in 1867, 35 in 1885 and 25 in 1905. It belonged to the district of Sensburg in the administrative district of Gumbinnen (from 1905 administrative district Allenstein ) in the Prussian province of East Prussia .

As a result of the war, Marienhof came to Poland in 1945 along with all of southern East Prussia and was given the Polish form of name Brodzikowo . The hamlet (in Polish Osada ) is now a village within the Gmina Mrągowo (rural municipality Sensburg ) in the powiat Mrągowski , until 1998 of the Olsztyn (Allenstein) Voivodeship , since then it has belonged to the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship .

church

Until 1945 Marienhof was parish in the Protestant Church Seehesten ( Polish: Szestno ) in the church province of East Prussia of the Evangelical Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic St. Adalbert Church in Sensburg (Polish: Mrągowo ) in the then diocese of Warmia .

Today Brodzikowo belongs to the evangelical parish church Mrągowo in the diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical Augsburg Church in Poland and to the Catholic parish church Szestno in today's Archdiocese of Warmia in the Polish Catholic Church .

traffic

Brodzikowo can be reached via a side road that branches off the Polish state road 59 (former German Reichsstraße 140 ) at Zalec (Salza) and leads directly into the village via Wyszembork (Weißenburg) . A railway connection has not existed since 1966 the Sensburg – Rastenburg (Polish Mrągowo – Kętrzyn ) railway line with the nearest railway station Weißenburg was given up.
