Lasowiec [ laˈsɔvjɛt͡s ] ( German  Sternwalde ) is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the Gmina Mrągowo ( rural community Sensburg ) in the Powiat Mrągowski ( Sensburg district ).

Geographical location

Lasowiec is located on the northwest bank of the Glemboko Lake (1938 to 1945 Sternwalder See , Polish Jezioro Głębokie ) in the middle of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , three kilometers west of the district town of Mrągowo ( German  Sensburg ).

history

Today's hamlet ( Polish Osada ) Lasowiec originally consisted of only two small courtyards and was a residential area within the municipality of Sensburg (Polish Mrągowo ) until 1945 . With its eleven inhabitants in 1867, 35 in 1885 and 22 in 1905, the place belonged to the district of Sensburg in the Gumbinnen district (1905 to 1945: Allenstein district ) in the Prussian province of East Prussia .

In 1945, Stern Walde came in consequence of the war with the entire southern East Prussia to Poland and received the Polish form of the name "Lasowiec". Today it is part of the Gmina Mrągowo (rural municipality Sensburg ) in the powiat Mrągowski ( Sensburg district ), until 1998 of the Olsztyn (Allenstein) Voivodeship , since then part of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .

church

In terms of church, Sternwalde was parish off to Sensburg until 1945 - in the local Protestant parish church in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic Church of St. Adalbert in the Diocese of Warmia .

The relationship to the two city churches still exists today.

traffic

Lasowiec can only be reached via a side road that branches off the Polish state road 59 (former German Reichsstraße 140 ) within the city of Mrągowo and leads to Bagienice Małe (Klein Bagnowen , 1938 to 1945 Bruchwalde) . There is no train connection.
