Gniewkowo [ ɡɲefˈkɔvɔ ] ( German Heinrichssorge ) was an independent place in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . Its local office is in the area of Gmina Mrągowo ( rural community Sensburg ) in the Powiat Mrągowski (district Sensburg ).
Geographical location
The local office Gniewkowos is located in the middle of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship , 13 kilometers northeast of the district town Mrągowo ( German Sensburg ).
history
The place known today as "była osada" (former hamlet ) was founded in 1838. In 1839 it was mentioned as a Vorwerk zu Grunau ( Polish: Gronowo ) with a fireplace for eleven residents. The place was considered a place to live within the estate district of Grunau, which belonged to the district of Sensburg in the administrative district of Gumbinnen (1905–1945 administrative district of Allenstein ) in the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1905 there were 22 residents in Heinrichssorge.
On September 30, 1928, Heinrichssorge and the Grunau estate were incorporated into the rural community .
As a result of the war, the place came to Poland in 1945 along with all of southern East Prussia and received the Polish form of the name Gniewkowo . Over the years it was completely absorbed in the village of Gronowo. It belongs to the Gmina Mrągowo (rural community Sensburg ) in the powiat Mrągowski ( Sensburg district ).

Until 1945 Heinrichssorge was parish in the Evangelical Church of Seehesten in the church province of East Prussia of the Evangelical Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic Church in Wilkendorf in what was then the Diocese of Warmia . After 1945 the relationship with the Catholic parish church in Wilkowo - today located in the Archdiocese of Warmia - continued, while the St. Trinity Church in Mrągowo is now the Protestant parish church and belongs to the Masurian Diocese of the Evangelical Augsburg Church in Poland .

The local office of Gniewkowo is on a side road that leads from the Voivodship road 591 at Wilkowo (Wilkendorf) via Gronowo (Grunau) to the state road 59 (former German Reichsstraße 140 ) at Słabowo (Slabowen , 1927–1945 Langenwiese) . There is no connection to the rail network.
